NPGA Strengthens Montana Presence with Strategic Hire

BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTA - Northern Pulse Growers Association (NPGA) is excited to announce the addition of Tom Allen as the new Montana Field Representative.
Allen joined the NPGA team in June and hit the ground running with extensive traveling throughout the state to multiple field days at the MSU Research Centers, attending board meetings and collaborating with both the NPGA and the Montana Pulse Crop Committee.
Allen will be working closely with Liz Edmundson at MPCC to support Montana’s pulse growers. Interacting directly with Montana producers and industry professionals will be the prominent focus of his position. Even though the position supports grower meetings and industry events across Montana, Allen will also be supporting NPGA educational efforts.
“I look forward to meeting more producers from around the state and getting to know producers during the meetings and conventions this winter,” says Allen. “It truly is eye opening to see how much research is going on in Montana with pulse crops - there is a lot of work being done.”
“Tom will be so valuable in being a direct link from our organizations to our growers,” says Shannon Berndt, Executive Director of NPGA. “From identifying future areas of research from our growers to understanding grower priorities, his on-the-ground presence in Montana is so important.”
The Northern Pulse Growers Association is a nonprofit association representing dry pea, lentil, chickpea, lupin and fava bean growers from Montana and North Dakota. The Northern Pulse Growers Association strives to increase pulse producers profitability through education, research, domestic and international marketing and government relations.
