Rondel Beery - District III
Beery, elected in 2019 is currently serving his first term on the NPGA Board of Directors representing pulse growers in eastern Montana. Beery farms and ranches with his wife, Lanette, son David, soon to be daughter-in-law Malori, daughter Danielle and son-in-law, Seth Servais. He currently raises wheat, peas, lentils, barley, hay and cattle around Vida, Circle and Richey in eastern Montana. Beery is a third generation farmer, his grandpa moved to west of Richey in the late forties from Iowa, today they live just two miles up Sullivan creek from where his dad and Beery, himself were both raised. Beery also spent 28 years in the grain business running two co-ops and was one of the first to buy, sell, and ship pulse crops out of eastern Montana to the west coast. “An opportunity to serve on the NPGA board feels like a great fit, with past and present experience on both sides of the pulse industry. I’m looking forward to learning and contributing to my new position. Even with our depressed markets, it's an exciting time for agriculture, especially for pulses with crop rotations, new diets, new recipes, pet foods and the desire for protein in a growing world population,” states Beery.
