What is PL-480? PL-480 is a government program designed to utilize surplus United States commodities to aid developing countries.

What crops are eligible? All peas that grade a U.S. No. 2 or higher, and lentils grading a U.S. No. 3 or higher.

How do I go about selling my crop through the PL-480? If you see the bid announcement is seeking a crop you are looking to sell, contact your local processor with the quantity of grain, quality and how much you wish to receive for it. The processors will than bid this amount for you. The time frame for getting bids in for the PL-480 tenders is limited, so contact the elevator or processor you're working with as soon as possible to let them know of your interest and the amount of crop you have available.
